COO Hamada spoke at a pitch event
ELANCER Japan Inc.'s COO, Ryoya Hamada, spoke at a pitch event and introduced our service.
What we covered
Drawing on 26 years of accumulated talent and project data, we introduce professionals who can contribute from day one, from a pool of 410,000 in Japan and abroad. Using a single-page summary of how this works, we walked through what happens between a company's first enquiry and our proposal.
What we emphasised was searching beyond the domestic hiring market. When the hiring market is tight and candidates are scarce, widening the search beyond Japan raises the chance of finding someone who fits the requirements.
Thinking in terms of projects
Hiring takes time, and once someone is hired they become a fixed cost. Projects, meanwhile, move through phases from launch to steady operation, and the number of people and the skills required change along the way.
We offer a way to secure the skills you need, only for as long as you need them. You can scale up or down by phase, and treat the cost as a monthly variable rather than a fixed one - which is one of the reasons companies come to us.
What comes next
We took concrete questions from people who are dealing with talent shortages themselves. We will put what we heard into improving the service.
We will keep using occasions like this to explain what becomes possible when IT talent is sourced across borders.
